My mom went to a concert of this artist without me… Based on my mom’s description of the performance, this song was part of it. Now this songwriter is scheduled to perform in my area in the upcoming months, and I’m seriously considering going. Of course when I said this my coworkers started making fun of me…

The legendary Sarah McLachlan! This artist has been a part of my life since I was little, since my mom is a fan of hers. I bought the album this song is on a whim one day a few years ago, and for some reason I really liked this song in particular.

Sarah McLachlan - When She Loved Me

It's not often that a song can make me view it as heartbreaking due to the lyrics, but congratulations, Sarah McLachlan, you have done it. This is from the soundtrack of the Pixar film Toy Story 2, and is about a doll being outgrown by her friend/owner. One time I was playing this on the piano and, in a very weird moment, it suddenly hit me how incredibly sad it was. SO SAD.

Sarah McLachlan - Full of Grace

My mom owned the album this song is from, so I heard this many, many times throughout my childhood and loved the entire album, but when I had to live in cold, lonely Oregon for a year and was basically depressed, this song suddenly took on a whole new meaning for me and it grew to be my favorite song on the album.  Dramatic, yes, but I guess that demonstrates how much I absolutely hated living there.
