Sara Bareilles - Breathe Again

Whoooooooooooooooo, prettayyyyy! My friend was playing this song in his car while we were driving home from a concert we’d attended together, which is how I encountered it, but I guess this song was used on the TV series The Vampire Diaries. (I highly suspect that’s how my friend first heard it.) More recently, I heard it somewhere else and was reminded that I should post it. This doesn't sound to me like the other songs I've heard by this artist; I wouldn't even recognize her voice on my own.

What I said last time about this artist still holds true: the more I see and hear of this singer/songwriter/musician, the more I like her. I just came across this song’s MV today and indeed my appreciation of Sara grew. I like that she has songs about somewhat atypical subject matter—this is encouraging its listeners to be true to themselves and speak with honesty.

Admittedly, I haven’t really gone out of my way to listen to this American artist’s music, although from her first radio single I thought she was talented. Over time, I’ve seen more and more indications that this singer/songwriter/musician has attitude, and I like that, even though this song isn’t a good example of that. Rather, this song impressed me with its prettiness.
