Faye Wong - 冷戰

At last, at last!! I found this song in good quality! This is a cover of the song “Silent All These Years” by another of my favorite artists, Tori Amos. And it’s in Cantonese! It’s one of the first Cantonese songs I ever had, and I think it’s also one of the first songs I heard by this super-famous Chinese artist. I actually heard this cover before I heard the original version of the song.

I’ve had this song in my collection for a long time, and I have just always really liked it. Her voice sounds soooo cool! I love that effortless vibrato she has.

Whoa, look, it's another song by the legendary Faye Wong, the first Chinese artist I listened to! This is also one of the first Chinese songs whose lyrics I memorized. I used to sing this song all the time. This singer makes such pretty music and has such a great voice; it's no wonder she's a major icon in Chinese pop culture. I've been listening to this song & this artist's other music a lot lately, and I find this song even more beautiful and haunting than I remember it being years ago. When she sings "ta lai," it gives me chills!

I think this is the first Chinese song I acquired, EVER.  And definitely the first one whose lyrics I memorized.  This is actually how I learned pinyin!  And what better artist to make a first impression than the world-renowned Faye Wong?  She's one of the most famous Chinese singers, and I quite like her music.  This song is from the soundtrack of the Chinese movie Hero (same title as the song).
