Oh, Seo Taiji. Such an envelope-pusher. Christmas is establishment dictatorship, and Halloween, the holiday for weirdos and freaks, is where freedom is at. I kind of love the creepy keyboardist. This would have been appropriate for October when my posts were all somehow connected to Halloween, but its Christmas-relevance qualifies it for December too I suppose. The lyrics turn common refrains of Christmas (“You better watch out; you better not cry!”) on their head, representing a fascist society. If you think about it, it makes sense: Christmas rhetoric encourages quiet obedience, whereas Halloween encourages nonconformity and rebelliousness.
