One of the songs by this artist that won me over. This song’s lyrics are its strong point, with their storytelling nature and poetic imagery. To me, the song sounds like it’s describing a soldier who’s killed and has trouble living with that weight. There’s a little profanity.

I like how this escalates into screams. I also like the inclusion of the strings instruments. Fun fact, in case you didn’t know: At the Oscar Awards about a month and a half ago, the lead singer of this band won Best Supporting Actor.

I’m mostly posting this song for the music video, which is blatantly modeled after the classic horror movie The Shining. I had read the book The Shining before seeing this music video, but it’s really the film that the music video is based on, and now that I’ve seen the film too I can appreciate it all the more.

I was pleasantly surprised by this band's cover of Lady Gaga's popular song. I like both artists, I just didn't expect the genre crossover to work so well. I really like the original, but I also like this reimagining of the song.

It is lame but true: this is yet another song I heard first through an AMV.  (This one, to be precise.  It's for a crapload of different anime and gets major points for diversity.)  I know, I'm really nerdy...  This song's intensity was irresistible, and when I looked up the band's other music I found out that I was already familiar with the lead singer through some of his roles as an actor.  I'm kind of in awe of his in-key screaming skills.
