In case you missed it, this uber-famous pop artist KILLED it at the Oscar Awards last weekend. I was happy to see that, because, although I’m not a huge fan of hers in general, I always feel the need to defend her against the anti-fans who assume she lacks talent based on the facts that she primarily makes mainstream pop music and is immensely popular. However, she composes her own music and that of others, writes her own lyrics (however weird they may be), can play the piano, and sings like a mofo—as this performance proved once and for all to even those who wouldn’t go out of their way to hear her sing classically.
