Since he's immensely famous, I knew who this artist was for quite a while before I started listening to his music. I was pretty reluctant to get into his music because at first I couldn't get over his singing style that made it sound like he perpetually had a cold. This is the first ballad of his that I actually liked, which I heard when I gave him another chance by acquiring it from an mp3 rotation site. What sold me on this song, though, was not impressive technique but rather that the emotion felt almost palpable.
