Even though I heard this artist’s name come up a lot over the past year, and saw them get nominated for awards at the Grammys, I didn’t look this artist up because it seemed like they didn’t make my kind of music. However, when this song was used in a recent episode of the German soap opera I was following, it just about killed me (which in this case is a very good thing, because it was storytelling at its most poignant). Then I listened to the song in its entirety and found it even more moving.
