I think I heard music by this artist at a restaurant and Shazamed it, but I must have heard his music years before that because I watched part of The Namesake, a movie for which he composed the soundtrack. Much of what he makes is classified as world music, which could really mean anything but usually refers to non-Western-sounding music marketed to a Western audience. He also makes some cool trip-hop, which I wish I’d discovered earlier.
