I only know of this Korean artist because of a presentation about the evolution of K-pop I attended. I was struck by this singer’s tone that does not imitate the sound I typically hear from female Korean singers. My friend and I couldn’t help but notice her image in the MV was going for neither of the types women are typically shown as in K-pop MVs, cute or sexy, but instead, pretty.
